Shrewsbury Town FC has chosen two legends, Jake King and Mickey Brown, to be honoured with permanent stadium tributes as part of the club's 140th anniversary celebrations. The fans' choice will be immortalised with banners outside the Croud Meadow. The original plan was to honour only the player who received the most votes, but the club has decided to honour both King and Brown with permanent banners. King was central to Shrewsbury's golden era in the late 1970s, and Brown is also regarded as one of the club's all-time greats, having played for Shrewsbury across three spells. The banners form part of a series of projects celebrating Shrewsbury's 140th anniversary. Large-scale graphics celebrating the club's history have already been installed inside the Croud Meadow, including images of Graham Turner's title-winning team from the late 1970s. Next fixture: vs Oldham (away, 2027-02-27) (8th in the table).
