Shrewsbury Town manager Gavin Cowan has emphasized the importance of loan moves for youngsters Jay Snook and Reuben Falding as they seek to gain senior experience. Both players have joined non-league clubs to further their development, with Snook heading to Nuneaton Town and Falding returning to Kidsgrove Athletic.

Cowan believes these loan spells are vital for the development of Snook and Falding. He praised Snook's pre-season performances and highlighted the need for both players to experience men's football. Despite the lower level of competition, the focus is on exposing them to the physicality of senior football.

While on loan, Snook and Falding will continue to train with Shrewsbury's first team throughout the week. Cowan hopes they can follow in the footsteps of academy graduates Isaac England and Will Gray, who have successfully transitioned to the first team. The manager also mentioned Hugo Aston as another promising young player excelling in the academy.

Shrewsbury Town are currently preparing for their next fixture against Oldham Athletic on February 27, 2027, where they sit 8th in the table. The focus remains on developing young talent while maintaining competitive performances in League Two.
