Shrewsbury's loanee Ismeal Kabia has sealed a fresh move, joining Scottish Premiership side St Mirren on a season-long loan from Arsenal. The 20-year-old made 43 appearances for Shrewsbury last season, signing off in style with a thunderbolt at the Croud Meadow in Shrewsbury's final home game of the campaign. That stunning long-range strike went on to win both the club's goal of the month and goal of the season awards.

Kabia has since featured for Arsenal during pre-season, including in a friendly against Real Betis. The youngster first featured in Arsenal's senior matchday squad in September 2024, when he was an unused substitute in a 1-0 win over north London rivals Tottenham. He made his first-team debut later that month, coming off the bench in a 5-1 EFL Cup victory over Bolton Wanderers.

Why it matters for Shrewsbury

Speaking to St Mirren's website, manager Craig McLeish said: "He'll bring real excitement. He's a one-v-one type winger with real pace and directness. "He had 43 appearances with Shrewsbury last season in League Two. He played a lot of football last season and now he's looking for his next step in his development. We're getting a really good, hungry young player."

Kabia could make his debut against Rangers in the Scottish League Cup at Ibrox today. Shrewsbury currently sit 22nd in League Two, with 0 points from 1 game, and are 3 points behind leaders Walsall. Their next fixture is against Oldham on February 27, 2027.
