Shrewsbury Town manager Gavin Cowan has reaffirmed his commitment to bolstering the team's attacking capabilities, despite the club's recent defeat at Tranmere Rovers. Cowan, who has been vocal about his desire for additional signings, has already brought in eight new players this summer, including striker George Lloyd. However, due to transfer fee restrictions, Shrewsbury cannot make any further acquisitions until the window closes on September 1.

Following the loss, Cowan expressed his determination to bring in more attackers, stating, 'Yes, we're working really hard. Just need the A-OK from the people above when it's time.' Cowan highlighted the need for additional attacking talent, saying, 'We're going to need to have a little bit more of an opportunity to bring people in - at the top end of the pitch, absolutely.'

Cowan is optimistic about adding a new player before their next home league game against Barnet, but he emphasized the importance of patience in the transfer process. 'You’d like to think so, but we’re in a waiting game, we don’t just want to rush out there and get anyone. It’s completely against what we’re trying to do. We’re just trying to wait for the right one,' he said.

Despite the defeat, Cowan remained positive, reminding his players that there are 45 league games left in the season. 'These are the times you find out about everyone. I’ve just said to my players, we need to go again next week. It’s one game, the opening game of the season, there’s 45 to go,' he added.

The transfer window remains open, and Cowan's persistence in finding the right players could be key for Shrewsbury's performance in the upcoming season.
