Shrewsbury Town has signed Arkell Jude-Boyd, a player with international pedigree. He has earned six appearances for Saint Lucia.
What drew him to Shrewsbury?
Jude-Boyd arrives at the Croud Meadow after two years at League Two rivals Cheltenham Town. He made 83 appearances in all competitions and scored four goals.
International experience
He was named in Saint Lucia’s squad for the 2024/25 CONCACAF Nations League. Jude-Boyd made his debut against Curaçao, scoring the opening goal in a 2-1 victory.
Pride of representing Saint Lucia
“My grandad is Saint Lucian,” Jude-Boyd explained. He chose to represent Saint Lucia to feel what being international was like. Travelling the world and doing it through football was an easy decision.
Upcoming season
Jude-Boyd joins other Shrewsbury players with international experience, including Max Mata and Luca Hoole. Mata represented New Zealand at both youth and senior level. Hoole has represented Wales at youth level. The new defensive arrival was included in Saint Lucia’s 23-man squad for the 2023/24 CONCACAF Nations League.
