Shrewsbury Town Reunion: Brian Little Wishes Gavin Cowan Well
Shrewsbury Town manager Gavin Cowan has received a warm message from Villa icon Brian Little after their reunion at the club. Brian Little, a legendary former Aston Villa striker and manager, wished Shrewsbury Town the best of luck for the new season after catching up with Cowan in his office following a match.
What happened?
Brian Little was in attendance for Salop's clash with Aston Villa's Under-21s on Saturday, as Cowan's side rounded off their pre-season campaign. Following Town's 3-2 victory, Little caught up with Cowan, whom he managed at Gainsborough Trinity during the 2010/11 season.
Why it matters for Shrewsbury
Speaking to the Shropshire Star earlier this summer, Cowan described Little as one of his heroes and one of the biggest influences on his career. In a post on social media, Little shared a picture of himself with the Shrewsbury boss after they met in Cowan's office following the match and wished Salop well for the season ahead.
What comes next?
Shrewsbury Town is set to face Oldham in their next fixture on February 27, 2027, sitting 8th in the table. The club will look to build on their pre-season momentum and continue their push for a successful season under manager Gavin Cowan.
