Shrewsbury Town FC wishes to provide an important update regarding a supporter who suffered a medical emergency following the match against Barrow. Bob Green experienced a cardiac arrest in the car park after the game, prompting immediate action from the club's medical team. A stand manager quickly contacted the Shrewsbury Town control room, and within minutes, medics Russ Newman and Alan Lewis were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, they found that Bob had already been placed in the recovery position by the crowd doctor and matchday stewards, who were supplied by K2. Russ and Alan checked for breathing and found no pulse, leading them to initiate chest compressions without delay. They prepared a defibrillator and administered two shocks within three minutes of the initial call. Shortly after, the West Midlands Ambulance Service arrived and delivered a third shock. Russ continued CPR as Bob was transported to the ambulance, and within 25 minutes of the cardiac arrest, he was receiving treatment in the hospital. Shrewsbury Town is pleased to report that Bob is now recovering, although he faces a long road ahead. The club extends its heartfelt gratitude to the crowd doctor, K2 stewards, and the medical team for their life-saving efforts, as well as to the West Midlands Ambulance Service for their rapid response.
