Shrewsbury Town return to Croud Meadow for their first home competitive match of the 2024‑25 season, hosting Barnet in a League Two fixture. The match comes after the Town’s opening‑day defeat to Tranmere Rovers, and the club is eager to secure a positive result to start the campaign on a stronger note.
Barnet, who won their opening game of the season, present a stern test for Gavin Cowan’s side. The Bees were also Cowan’s first opponents after he took the reins at Shrewsbury in January, adding a personal element to the encounter.
Shrewsbury’s manager, Gavin Cowan, will be looking to bounce back from the loss at Tranmere and to establish a solid home record early in the season. The match is expected to be a key moment for both clubs as they seek to build momentum in League Two.
The game is scheduled to take place at Croud Meadow, with fans expected to fill the ground for the first competitive home outing of the season. Both teams will be keen to secure a win to set the tone for the months ahead.
