Shrewsbury Town manager Gavin Cowan was left frustrated after his side could only draw 1-1 at Crewe Alexandra despite dominating the game. The result leaves Shrewsbury 18th in the League Two table with seven points from their opening seven matches.
Cowan stated his team should have taken all three points from the trip to Gresty Road. "I felt my side should have claimed all three points," he said. Shrewsbury created 21 shots on goal, with Isaac Fletcher hitting the post and both Will Boyle and Kian McMahon-Brown going close.
The manager did find a positive in George Lloyd's 39th-minute equaliser, which cancelled out Jordan Gibson's opener for the hosts. "I'm proud to see George Lloyd get off the mark for the season," Cowan added.
More than 1,300 travelling fans provided what Cowan described as fantastic support throughout the match in Cheshire.
