This is a landmark year for Shrewsbury Town as we celebrate the club's 140th anniversary - and we want supporters to play a central role in marking the occasion. Following extensive consultation with fan groups, we have developed a range of exciting plans and initiatives to honour our proud history and celebrate the people and moments who have helped shape it. Over the past 140 years, Shrewsbury Town has experienced triumphs, challenges and countless unforgettable moments. Through it all, one thing has remained constant: this football club belongs to its supporters. That is why we want fans to help us celebrate our rich heritage and create a fitting tribute to 140 years of Salop. And it is through working with our supporter groups, the Super Blues and the Official Supporter Club (OSC), that we have been able to bring these fantastic ideas to life. Alongside a special commemorative anniversary kit, three major projects will form the centrepiece of our summer celebrations. Our anniversary year will officially begin at the club's open day on Sunday, July 26, where supporters will have the chance to relive and share memories from every era of Shrewsbury Town's history. For the event, hospitality boxes around the stadium will be transformed into mini museum-style exhibitions, each dedicated to a different period in the club's journey. Supporters will be able to walk through generations of Salop memories and explore the stories, people and moments that have defined our football club. To help bring the exhibition to life, we are inviting supporters to loan or donate memorabilia, photographs and other items of historical significance. Loaned items can be collected after the open day, while donated pieces may form part of future plans to create a permanent museum at the Croud Meadow. The second major project will focus on enhancing the look and feel of the Croud Meadow through the installation of several large-scale graphics around the stadium, tieing us in with our history. The first will see huge corner graphics, located in the apex of each stand, designed to strengthen the stadium's identity and atmosphere. Supporters will have the opportunity to help shape the project, with a vote on a selection of iconic images set to be launched on our website. The winning images will then be transformed into striking stadium artwork. In addition, block signage inside the ground will be redesigned to featuring iconic retro Town shirts, along with the turnstile numbers outside of the ground. New signage will also be printed to aid both home and away supporters on matchdays. And finally, two new club legends will be permanently commemorated outside the stadium alongside existing tributes to Ken Mulhearn, Arthur Rowley, Graham Turner & Alf Wood, again, voted on by our supporters and announced ahead of the new season. These projects are designed to ensure every supporter has the opportunity to play a part in celebrating our past while helping shape the future of Shrewsbury Town. Keep an eye on our website and social media channels for further announcements as we continue our 140th anniversary celebrations throughout the year.
