Transfer Window Deadline
The Cymru Premier transfer window is entering its final stages, with clubs having just one full week before the deadline on Tuesday, September 1. Teams are scrambling to strengthen squads, add depth or make late moves before the market shuts.
Simba Nyamwanza Joins Caernarfon
Caernarfon Town have added another promising young player to their squad with the signing of 18-year-old winger Simba Nyamwanza. Nyamwanza came through the Shrewsbury Town academy and made club history when he became the Shrews’ youngest-ever first-team player. He made his senior debut in the EFL Trophy at just 16 and subsequently gained further experience away from Shrewsbury, spending the 2024/25 season on loan with Northwich Victoria.
The move sees Nyamwanza step into Welsh football as Caernarfon look to build on their recent successes. The 18-year-old will bring pace, creativity and a proven youth pedigree to the Cymru Premier side.
Shrewsbury’s Youth Path
Nyamwanza’s progression from the Shrewsbury academy to first-team football illustrates the club’s commitment to developing young talent. After debuting at 16, he gained valuable minutes on loan before attracting interest from a Welsh club. His departure marks the first time a Shrewsbury academy product has joined a Cymru Premier team.
The transfer is part of a busy period for Welsh clubs, with several teams making signings or departures as the window closes. While other moves involve former Huddersfield, Cardiff City or Newport County players, Nyamwanza’s arrival is the only direct link to Shrewsbury in this set of transactions.
Nyamwanza will join Caernarfon Town for the upcoming Cymru Premier campaign.
